What is RDI?
RDI is a therapy program designed to address the core deficits of autism which impacts social communication, inability to empathize wtih others, aversion to change, and rigid thinking. It is a powerful step-by-step developmental model which focuses on building the motivations that drive social development.

Goals of RDI
To learn and desire friendship, empathy and a love of sharing their world with others.

To not only tolerate, but to enjoy change, transition and going with the flow.

To develop flexible thinking, planning, and emotional regulation

To be excited about exploring their world, rather than fearing it.

At Stairway to Friendship Therapy Services, we provide a path for people with ASD, Asperger Syndrome and NLD to learn friendship, empathy, and a love of sharing with others.

Treatment is based upon Dr. Steve Gutstein's Relationship Development  Intervention (RDI) Program which motivates people on the Autistic Spectrum to desire relationships.

Occupational Therapy, coordinated with RDI principles,  will encorpoarate a sensory approach that will help regulate and teach self-regulation to prepare the child for his/her occupations of play, self-care, and family participant.
